“It will be a great jumping-off point for a conversation about this subject.” That’s Katie Couric discussing her new documentary titled “Under the Gun,” which will premiere at Sundance Film Festival next January. While she promises to “provide different perspectives from all sides of the issue,” Couric presents her film as “an opportunity to have a civil, productive conversation with the majority of Americans in this country who feel gun violence is unacceptable.”

Doing publicity for the movie, Couric shows exactly where she stands when she spouts ridiculous statements like, “There is what’s considered a mass shooting almost every day in America now.” So when she says “some people won’t like it,” it’s likely those “some people” will be America’s law-abiding gun owners and the 5 million men and women of the National Rifle Association.
