Man Fights Off Violent Attack By Son-In-Law

posted on August 5, 2016

When Luling, La., resident William Canada Jr. decided he had had enough of his estranged wife and her family, he grabbed a gun, two cans of gas and a Molotov cocktail, and headed for his in-laws’ home. Before leaving, he sent his wife a text message saying, “Bye bye, a-holes.”

It was a sure tragedy in the making—that is, until his father-in-law fought back. According to local media, Canada began shooting his pistol into the doors and windows after he realized his father-in-law had seen him on the porch. The father-in-law fired four or five shots in response before he was struck in the chest by one of Canada’s bullets.

Canada, who fled, was later apprehended by police. The father-in-law is expected to make a full recovery, as the bullet that struck him had already passed through a wooden door and a sofa, so didn’t fully penetrate his chest.
