The escape of two convicted killers from New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility has alarmed local communities. Five days after the escape, armed officers sealed off the rural roads of nearby Willsboro, N.Y.

Fox News interviewed Win Belanger—his handgun in its holster and wearing an NRA cap—on the front lawn of his rural home. “You lock your doors, lock your truck and pull the gun out of the gun box and, if you have a license, you put it on and it makes everyone in the house feel a little safer,” he said. Many residents had left, but not Belanger: “I’m going to stay here. I have no reason to leave. As long as they don’t come in my home, I’m fine.”

In May 2003, A1F asked: In a crisis, would you turn to someone in 1) a Tommy Hilfiger T-shirt, 2) a Minnesota T-Wolves jersey, or 3) an NRA hat? The answer: Win Belanger.
