Ohio Man Shoots Home Intruder

posted on July 18, 2017

Police believe an incident in which an Ohio man shot an alleged home intruder is a simple case of armed self-defense.

According to local media reports, a man came into a Preble County, Ohio, home occupied by three adults and three children. He had a mask tied over his face, a gun in his hand and was shouting obscenities. That’s when one of the residents shot the intruder.

“The resident’s decision to fire at our victim was based on the fact that the victim was armed with a pistol,” Sheriff Mike Simpson told News Center 7. “So, based on what we know today, we don’t see any issues with [the resident’s] decision to do that.”

The intruder later died at a nearby hospital. Nobody else in the residence was injured.
