This feature appears in the January ‘17 issue of NRA America’s 1st Freedom, one of the official journals of the National Rifle Association.

It will come as no shock to America’s 1st Freedom readers that during the months and weeks leading up to the election, so-called “mainstream” media outlets went all in for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

It was easy to see just by watching the news and reading the papers. And a closer look proved it true—politico.com revealed that a whopping 91 percent of news coverage of Trump on the three broadcast nightly newscasts over a 12-week period before the election were “hostile” to the Republican candidate.

There was no way to miss the bias. The week before the election, 76 percent of those asked in a Suffolk University/USA Today poll answered “Hillary Clinton” to the question: “Who do you think the media, including major newspapers and TV stations, would like to see elected president: Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?”

Still, we were surprised at the over-the-top reaction by many in the media once all the votes were counted. Just consider these gems:

“You’re awake by the way. You’re not having a terrible, terrible dream. Also you’re not dead and you haven’t gone to hell.” —Rachel Maddow during live MSNBC election coverage.

“A nation gone wrong in a world gone crazy: A first reckoning with how the hell this happened” —Salon.com headline.

“house of horrors”  New York Daily News cover line accompanying a picture of the White House and an upside-down flag.

“Mourning in America: nightmare: prez trump …” —Main page headline at huffingtonpost.com.

“Hate Trumps History: A Reality TV Star Wins the White House in a Broken America” —Headline at motherjones.com.

If there was ever any doubt that “mainstream” media are biased, it should be gone now. After their bad showing in Election 2016, we can add “irrelevant” to the list of words that perfectly describe them.

Our advice to the “mainstream” media is to remember this: The difference between winning and whining is there’s no “H” in winning.
