Praise The Lord, And Pass The Ammunition

An Alabama church has found a unique way to utilize some rough church-owned property behind its buildings, and is helping members and local law enforcement improve their shooting skills in the process.

Rocky Mount United Methodist Church in Jemison, Ala., has turned an overgrown gully out back into a shooting range, used both for training and as an outreach ministry. “This is an opportunity for us to reach out in the name of Jesus Christ in a setting that is completely unique. Even odd by some people’s standards,” Phillip Guin, church pastor, told WIAT. “But who’s to say that church can’t happen right here?”

The range is also regularly used by officers with the Jemison Police Department, both for training and offering training courses to the public.
