Researcher: Elite Legacy Media Cover NRA With “Naked Bias Of Large Magnitude”

posted on July 19, 2016

A University of Toledo professor who has studied the history, principles and techniques of propaganda, as it was used by various governments during World War I and World War II, reports that he has found many of the same techniques used by members of the elite media to attack, marginalize and dehumanize leaders and members of gun-rights groups such as the National Rifle Association of America.

What’s more, Professor Brian Anse Patrick reports, these propaganda efforts, which get magnified when smaller, less influential media outlets copy the coverage, attitude and language used by the elite media, reveal a “naked bias of large magnitude” against the NRA by the media.

The consolation, Patrick reports, is that “such coverage offends and politically mobilizes gun owners. Were it not for the informational heavy-handedness of The New York Times and similar news organizations, NRA and American gun culture would not possess the power of numbers they have today.”
