On Sunday, NRA tweeted a reminder about the dangers of a Hillary Clinton presidency: “The attack on #2A is clear. A Clinton SCOTUS would hack away at our #2A rights. #Guns #NeverHillary,” it read.

Shortly after, Shannon Watts, founder of Michael Bloomberg’s Demanding Moms, fired back: “Attack on Americans clear: [NRA] lobbyists paid millions to hack away at lifesaving gun laws. #ImWithHer.”

Firstly, Watts never even tries to deny NRA’s assertions about a Clinton Supreme Court. But the real problems with this tweet become apparent within the first three words. How can NRA’s actions be an attack on Americans when poll after poll shows that not only do Americans value gun rights over gun control and believe guns make us safer, but a full 20 percent more Americans view NRA favorably than those who have a favorable view of Hillary Clinton

And what about these “lifesaving gun laws”? Is she referring to the ones banning rifles very rarely used in crimes, or the ones mandating background checks that only the law-abiding will submit to?
