In Marietta, Ga., on June 2, a woman left her vehicle at a gas pump and went inside the station. When she returned to her vehicle, a 32-year-old man who’d been waiting nearby reportedly attempted to steal her keys and vehicle. The woman fought back and screamed, attracting the attention of a 66-year-old man, who ran over to assist her. The good Samaritan knocked the alleged assailant off the woman, whereupon the two got into a brief scuffle. However, the suspect then ran into a nearby intersection and allegedly attempted to steal another car that had a woman and her toddler in it. The good Samaritan again ran over to intervene, this time pointing a gun at the would-be carjacker and ordering him to get out of the vehicle. The armed citizen kept the suspect on the ground until police arrived and took him into custody. (wsbtv.com, Atlanta, Ga., 6/5/25)
A landowner In Condon, Mont., heard noises outside his home on the night of June 3 and went outside to check on his livestock and dogs, whereupon a male grizzly bear charged directly at him. Fortunately, the man was armed and shot the bear dead. This was the third incident of grizzly attacks stopped by firearms within a few weeks in the state; however, the other two incidents occurred in the wilderness and involved mother bears with cubs nearby.
