This NRA Video is a Must-See

We’ve reported previously at America’s 1st Freedom on some of the inane things that President Joe Biden (D) and others have said about firearms and your Second Amendment rights, but it’s also helpful to see what elected officials who support our freedom think about these statements, so the NRA put together this video.

“If you want to protect yourself, get a double-barrel shotgun,” once said Biden. “Have the shells of a 12-gauge shotgun and I promise you, as I told my wife, we live in an area that’s wooded and somewhat secluded. I said, ‘Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out, put that double-barrel shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house, I promise you, whoever is coming in is not gonna.’” In this video, you’ll see various current and former officials reacting to this and other comments.

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) look incredulous. Reps. Mark Robinson (R-N.C.) and Burgess Owens (R-Utah), both of whom have previously sat down with America’s 1st Freedom, could barely hold back laughter at Biden’s outrageous ignorance.

“You don’t need an AR-15, it’s harder to aim, it’s harder to use and, in fact, you don’t need 30 rounds to protect yourself,” continued Biden.

“Where do you start?” asked Rep. Jordan after the clip.

“You know, Americans ought to have the right to defend themselves precisely the way that the Constitution and our founders understood it,” said Pompeo. “Somehow, the idea that President Biden gets to decide precisely which firearms we ought to have and precisely how we ought to protect our home and our family is absolutely ludicrous.”

The video continues with statements from White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who has made it abundantly clear that gun control is coming. There are also clips from John Kerry.

“They really believe they know everything about everything and they know nothing about guns,” says Rep. Owens.

President’s Column | What a Year It Has Been!

Wow! How fast a year has gone by since being elected president at the end of April last year! My first column was titled “It’s A New Day At The NRA,” and included the following:

Standing Guard | We Are the Good Citizens

I am a big believer in transparency. Each individual needs privacy from unconstitutional government intrusion—this especially includes what guns a law-abiding American citizen might own—but an association of freedom-loving citizens must be transparent.

U.S. v. Hemani Arguments

On March 2, the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral arguments in U.S. v. Hemani. The case involves a defendant who is fighting a federal indictment for possessing a firearm while being a marijuana user.

President’s Column | Getting You Up to Speed

A lot of things have occurred over the past month or so that not all members are completely aware of. I’ll use my column this month to update you on some important issues—transparency.

Standing Guard | The NRA Gathers to Celebrate Our Freedom

The momentum we’re seeing across the country is both encouraging and energizing. January opened with tremendous activity at the NRA booth during SHOT Show, where members, industry partners and supporters stopped by to connect, share ideas and reaffirm their commitment to freedom and the Second Amendment.

Port Authority Doubles Down on Constitution-Free Zone with High-Profile Arrest

As anyone who has passed a basic civics class knows, the U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land. All legislation and official government actions are subject to its limits.
