What Joe Biden Would Do To Your Rights

When you go to vote today, keep this image right in the front of your mind. Here, you can see Joe Biden, who doesn’t believe you should have the right to keep and bear arms, bracketed by two Secret Service agents. This isn’t a metaphor. This is an example of the elitist world Biden wants to create, one where he is well protected—as are the very wealthy and powerful who can afford armed security—but where you won’t be allowed to protect yourself.

Of course, our president needs Secret Service protection. The point isn’t that President Donald J. Trump is well-guarded by Secret Service, or that Joe Biden, as a candidate for president, also warrants such protection. The point is that the rest of us need our constitutional rights, so that we can also protect ourselves in the “land of the free and the home of the brave,” as Francis Scott Key put it.

And Biden’s platform is a frontal assault on this individual right.

Biden has denied this, even though it is on his campaign website: When Biden toured the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles plant in Detroit last March, one hardhat-wearing worker asked Biden why he was “actively trying to end our Second Amendment right and take away our guns.” Biden responded, “You’re full of sh--.”

But Biden’s campaign website clearly shows this worker knows what he is talking about. What’s listed on it should concern America’s 100-plus-million gun owners, including the estimated 7 million who bought their first gun this year.

Biden, for starters, says he wants to bankrupt America’s gun makers by doing away with the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA). The thing is, this law doesn’t protect “these manufacturers from being held civilly liable for their products,” as Biden claims. The PLCAA’s plain words simply prevent firearms makers and dealers from being held liable if someone illegally uses one of their products. Just imagine if a car manufacturer, a knife maker, or a baseball bat company could be held civilly liable every time some monster used one of their products to harm someone. Those businesses would soon be bankrupt.

Biden says he wants to ban popular semi-automatic firearms, which utilize a gun design that has been around since the late 1800s. He also wants to “buy” them back, as if the government sold these guns to American citizens in the first place. This is a dishonest way of saying he wants to confiscate these semi-automatic firearms from the millions of Americans who own them.

Biden says he wants to create registries of gun owners. Oddly, though he says he wants to ban and “buy back” semi-automatic firearms, he also says he wants to “pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.” To accomplish this even theoretically, the government would need a registry of gun owners—and as history has shown again and again, registries lead to confiscation.

Biden says that “to reduce the stockpiling of firearms,” he “supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.” This, again, would require a registry to work.

Biden says he would “[p]ut America on the path to ensuring that 100% of firearms sold in America are smart guns.” This would literally put the government’s control into your theoretical gun.

Biden says he would “pass legislation requiring firearm owners to store weapons safely in their homes.” So, would he then empower government officials to inspect the homes of gun owners and to punish those who don’t comply with whatever demands the government deems to create? Biden doesn’t seem to understand that the U.S. Supreme Court struck down such a requirement in D.C. v. Heller (2008).

Biden says he would “[p]rohibit the use of federal funds to arm or train educators to discharge firearms.” So much for school-safety officers.

Biden, meanwhile, also wants to nominate judges who would rule that the Second Amendment doesn’t mean it when it says “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

The party is me,” former Vice President Joe Biden said during the first presidential debate. “Right now, I am the Democratic Party. I am the Democratic Party right now.”

This, when it comes to our Second Amendment rights, is a factual statement.

Biden’s official campaign website’s list of gun bans, restrictions, confiscations and more matches up with a boiled-down list of these same Second Amendment-inhibiting policies on the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) official 2020 platform (see page 47).

President Donald J. Trump, in contrast, understands and respects that the Second Amendment is an individual right.

When I interviewed President Trump in the Oval Office for the National Rifle Association, the first thing he did was lean his elbows on a desk blotter of the Declaration of Independence, tighten his eyes into a concentrated squint directed at me and say, “I will never waiver. I will never disappoint. I have and I will continue to protect the Second Amendment.”

Clearly, a vote for Biden is a vote against American freedom.
