While “The View” moderator Whoopi Goldberg is quick to call for gun-control supporters to push National Rifle Association to support anti-gun legislation, she doesn’t want to hear from those who disagree.

In a rambling conversation on Tuesday, Goldberg called for gun registration (“If [they are] responsible owners, have your guns. There’s no reason for us not to know who you are.”), and a ban on AK-47s ("If you’re responsible, why [do] you need an AK-47? …Because [if] you hit someone with an AK-47, all that’s left is dust!”). She also encouraged viewers to harass NRA leaders. (“Perhaps you just want to write to the folks who are in power over at the NRA. Let them know that the people are saying we need a change.”)

As for your viewpoint: She’d rather you keep that to yourself. “It’s my opinion only,” she concluded. “Please don’t email me ugly, nasty stuff.”

Use Your Power!

While we are always opposed to ugly, nasty responses to anyone for any reason, Whoopi’s wish that you keep your mouth shut doesn’t mean you don’t have the right to speak your mind. The program’s message board is here.
