Emails released by Wikileaks that show Clinton staffers discussing how, in an op-ed about gun control, they might use Eric Garner—the black man who died after being held in a chokehold by the NYPD in 2014—have outraged Garner’s daughter Erica, the New York Post reports.

“I’m troubled by the revelation that you and this campaign actually discussed ‘using’ Eric Garner … Why would you want to ‘use’ my dad?” Erica Garner tweeted, with a link to the Wikileaks emails. In that email thread, when one Clinton staffer asked why Eric Garner wasn’t included in the opinion piece pushing gun control, another staffer replied, “Eric Garner not included because not killed by gun violence.”

As Erica Garner tweeted, “These people will co-opt anything to push their agenda,” pointing out the obvious fact that “Police violence is not the same as gun violence.”
