Separatists Without Guns Massacre Chinese Miners

Here’s another one for the “like we needed any more proof” file: Gunless haters killed at least 50 in China’s Xinjiang province in mid-September, yet we find not so much as a peep—much less an outcry—from the likes of Michael Bloomberg, Piers Morgan, Shannon Watts or Hillary Clinton.

Uyghur Islamist separatists used knives and heavily loaded vehicles to wreak their havoc, with local police reporting some victims “were sleeping” when the attack took place. No heavy truck control? No knife background checks?

The incident makes an important point, though at an ugly cost: The mechanics of murder and mayhem are all but infinitely variable. It’s the willingness to compel others through force, and then violence, that is the age-old problem. As tens of millions of American gun owners prove every single day, the possession of arms does not equate to such violent compulsion any more than their absence guarantees safety.
