Chicago Vs. Mayberry

posted on April 6, 2015

Chicago—home to some of the strictest gun laws in the nation—continues to prove that making gun ownership more difficult for law-abiding citizens isn’t the way to curtail violent crime. Recent reports from the Chicago Police Department show that shootings in the Windy City have increased by more than 40 percent during the first three months of this year. Through March, there were 355 shootings, compared to 253 through March 2014. Murders were also up by 18 over the same period last year.

For a complete analysis of the fallacy of Chicago’s anti-gun laws, see our archived feature, “If Gun Control Worked, Chicago Would Be Mayberry” here.
