Bernie Sanders Completes His Anti-Gun Drift

While Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is far from good on gun policy, he at least had his vote in support of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) going for him. Now, presumably tired of getting beat up on by his opponents for his insufficient extremism, Sanders has announced that he supports the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act—legislation intended to gut the PLCAA and make the gun industry once again vulnerable to frivolous litigation.

Predictably, Hillary Clinton responded to this lack of courage with (back-handed) praise. “One of my biggest differences (with Sanders) has been on guns, and I’m very pleased that he flip-flopped on the immunity legislation,” she said. Oh yeah, there’s that old lie about the gun industry’s “immunity” popping up again.
