Killer Of 9-Year-Old Chicago Boy Should Have Been In Jail

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that a Chicago gang member suspected of the execution-style murder of a 9-year-old boy had been paroled only three months earlier.

It is alleged that 9-year-old Tyshawn Lee was playing basketball in a South Side park when he was lured into an alley by Dwight Boone-Doty, 22. Boone-Doty then shot the child in the head in retaliation against the boy’s father for the gang murder of Tracey Morgan in October. Morgan’s brother, Corey, 25, is also charged with murder in the case.

Boone-Doty served only two years of a five-year sentence on gun charges before being paroled in August 2015. Apparently, he passed straight through Chicago’s revolving door of justice back to his previous life: Investigators connected him to Lee’s murder while he was in custody for yet another murder in October, just two months after being released.
