American Confidence In Media, Congress Hit Rock Bottom

Good news for our nation’s fighting men and women: More than 70 percent of those surveyed still have confidence in the American military, a number unchanged in a decade.

Now, the bad news for the so-called “mainstream” media who have pretty much let unbiased reporting become a thing of the past: Confidence in the media has dropped dramatically in the same amount of time. In fact, Americans in a Gallup poll revealed their confidence in newspapers has bottomed out to a new low, right along with TV news. The survey showed only 20 percent still have confidence in newspapers, while their TV counterpart fell to 21 percent.

Both are 10-point drops in 10 years. Worse still, Congress is at the bottom of all the institutions surveyed by Gallup, with just 9 percent showing any confidence in the country’s elected leaders.
