Veteran Campaign Manager To Lead NRA’s Fight Against Nevada Question 1

National Rifle Association affiliate NRA Nevadans for Freedom has retained veteran campaign strategist Robert Uithoven, who recently led the successful campaign to elect Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, to manage its efforts to defeat Question 1. The state question would make common, perfectly innocent firearm “transfers”—for example, even lending someone your firearm to go plinking in the desert—into crimes.

“The out-of-state gun-control groups funding this flawed initiative”—including former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety—“will spend whatever it takes to drown out the voices of freedom-loving Nevadans,” Uithoven said.

A native of Reno, Uithoven has been involved in Nevada grassroots politics for 25 years and has led numerous successful local and statewide campaigns in the Silver State. “Robert’s proven ability to mobilize supporters ... will be the key to defeating the flawed gun-control initiative and stopping the Californication of Nevada’s gun rights,” said NRA spokeswoman Catherine Mortensen.
