Committee Hearing Set For N.H. “Permitless” Carry Measure

posted on January 7, 2017

As New Hampshire lawmakers try for a third straight year to pass a “permitless” carry law, Senate Bill 12 has been scheduled for a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee next Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Sponsored by Republican state Sen. Jeb Bradley, the measure would repeal the license requirement to carry a concealed pistol or revolver for anyone not otherwise prohibited. For those who choose to obtain licenses, Senate Bill 12 also would increase the length of time in which a license is valid.

Last year marked the second year in a row that former Gov. Maggie Hassan vetoed similar legislation after it passed the New Hampshire General Court.
