Media Spreads Lies About Number Of Mass Shootings

The liberal left operates on a premise of spreading misinformation in the hopes of creating confusion and chaos. Along the way, they’re all too happy to use made-up terms (assault weapon, anyone?), false arguments (the gun show loophole) and bogus stats (40 percent of guns are sold at gun shows without background checks) to sell their agenda.

The latest trick in the playbook comes in their attempt to exploit the shooting in Alexandria, Va. As Washington Free Beacon notes, several national media outlets have since repeated the gun control claim that, in 2017 so far, there have been more than 150 mass shootings. But in typical left fashion, the definition of “mass shooting” is their own creation.

The FBI, while without an official definition, considers a mass shooting to be four or more people being killed. By contrast, Slate magazine’s Gun Violence Archive defines a mass shooting as an attack where four or more people are injured. So depending on what you’re reading or who you’re listening to, there have either been 154 mass shootings thus far this year … or eight.
