Carry Permit Holder Backs Down Attacker

posted on June 5, 2017

A Mansfield, Texas, man used his legally concealed firearm to stop an aggressor who was assaulting him at a local park—without even firing a shot.

According to local media reports, the man was at the park with a woman and two children when another man confronted him about comments he allegedly made toward another child. Police say the other man became more irritated, hit the first man and “lifted him to his feet from a seated position by his shirt and had also struck him in the face and torso area.”

The victim then pulled out his concealed handgun, pointed it at attacker and those with him, and told them to back off, which they did. The aggressor left before police arrived, and officers are working to identify him and pursue appropriate charges.
