The French National Police have chosen Speer to produce the group’s service ammunition. The contract means Speer will supply 124-grain, 9 mm Luger, Gold Dot Duty ammunition over the duration of the contract for the 150,000-person force. The French National Police requested that the terms of the contract not be released, according to Vista Outdoors.

“The French National Police are one of the world’s finest law enforcement agencies. We’re proud to provide Speer Gold Dot for their duty ammunition needs and are honored they selected us for this important contract,” said Jason Nash, senior director of marketing for Speer.

Gold Dot is the first ammunition for handguns to offer true, bonded-core bullets, according to a Vista Outdoors press release. Speer uses an exclusive process to bond the jacked to the core atom by atom. Besides virtually eliminating core-jacket separation, the process ensures uniform jacket thickness, which in turn promotes a superior degree of accuracy.
