Tony Holmes Discusses Shooting

Competitive shooter Tony Holmes was asked: What’s your most memorable competition moment?

“This is a tough question! Throughout my 35 years of competing and the many championships I’ve won and lost, it’s hard to single out a specific moment as the most memorable. Yet, there are individual accomplishments I have achieved. From my very first National Title to 3-Gun World Title, to shooting a perfect 1920 score at the Bianchi Cup. But the most memorable was being able to shoot and compete as an adult alongside my father. Winning the event while he watched and seeing the look on his face probably goes down as the best since he was the one who introduced me to the shooting sports.”

Tony started competing in 1974 at the age of 13 in NRA High-Power and Small-bore Rifle matches. Throughout Tony’s professional competitive shooting career, he has consistently proven himself as a top competitor in a variety of shooting disciplines, which includes IPSC, Action Pistol, Long-Range Silhouette Rifle. But its 3-Gun that remains his favorite shooting discipline.
