Former President Donald Trump (R) has been elected to return to the White House as the 47th President of the United States of America in what can only be described as a resounding victory for freedom.

“The NRA congratulates President Trump on his hard-fought victory. Gun owners across the country will once again have a strong advocate for their Second Amendment rights in the White House. The NRA-PVF endorsed President Trump in May of 2016 in his first successful run for president, and since then, he has been a steadfast advocate for NRA members and our freedoms,” posted the NRA on X.

At the time of writing, Trump not only had the required electoral votes, but a notable lead in the national popular vote as well. Trump’s victory is not only one for freedom, but also a staunch rebuke of Kamala Harris’ (D) radical ambitions to further curtail law-abiding Americans’ constitutional rights.

Trump, in stark contrast to Harris, is a champion for the Second Amendment, and Americans made it abundantly clear at the ballot box that their choice was for freedom.

Let there be no doubt, the survival of our Second Amendment is very much on the ballot. You know what they want to do ... . The Second Amendment … is under siege. But with me, they’d never get anywhere. We need the [Second Amendment] for safety. Because you know the bad guys are not giving up their guns,” said Trump at the 2024 NRA Leadership Forum in Dallas, Texas, earlier this year.

During the first Trump presidency, he nominated Supreme Court justices who have records of interpreting the U.S. Constitution as it was originally written. These nominations were crucial in the Court’s decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, which affirmed that our Second Amendment rights do not cease to exist once we cross the threshold of our front doors. Trump also nominated numerous judges throughout the lower courts, including 54 appellate judges and 174 district judges. Trump also designated gun stores and shooting ranges as “essential” businesses during the outset of the COVID pandemic.

One thing that didn’t happen under Trump’s watch was the passage of any new, radical gun-control bills that would further infringe upon Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

“NRA members’ and gun owners’ votes returned this patriotic American to the White House. He has stood with us, spoken face-to-face with record numbers of NRA members at our Annual Meetings & Exhibits, and he has defended the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. Through his Supreme Court appointments, he strengthened a court that finally recognized what we all knew—that the Second Amendment applies inside your home and out—President Trump has stood with the members of the NRA. We congratulate our 45th—and soon to be 47th—President of the United States, NRA Life Member Donald J. Trump,” said Doug Hamlin, NRA executive vice president and CEO.

The former and now-future president will be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.
