Christmas is over, but don’t relax yet–Valentine’s Day is practically here!

There are many unique Valentines Day gifts available for the gun owners in your life, but this milk-chocolate version of a 30-round AR-15/M4 magazine from Mission First Tactical is a truly sweet choice. The gun owner in your life will probably laugh when they see it. (And then they’ll want to show it to all their shooting and hunting friends before they actually eat it.)

The chocolate bar is only available in limited batches around Christmas and Valentine’s Day and sells for $9.99.

“We started making these 4 or 5 years ago,” David Edelman, vice president of Mission First Tactical, told America’s 1st Freedom. “They’re not really a profit center for us. At first our sales manager’s wife made them with a chocolate-making kit. Now our bookkeeper’s wife, who owns a candy factory, makes them. But every year we make more, and every year they sell out.”

The chocolates are near-life-size 3D replicas of the company’s Extreme Duty Magazine, so if you really want to impress your Valentine, you can get both. You can also add a nice wallet, dump tray or holster, all custom-made by veterans, and all made in the U.S.

For more permanent fun, Mission First Tactical also makes weekly versions of the (non-chocolate) magazines with special prints. Past prints have included a Spartan warrior, holiday themes and rainbows with unicorns.

Gun Skills | Press Check

Back when I was a new gun owner, I drilled in a habit of checking to be sure my firearm was unloaded, which was also a terrific opportunity to work on gun-handling skills like racking the action and activating the controls.

The Incomparable, Inimitable Phil Schreier—1962-2025

The NRA took a serious hit on December 28th. We lost Phil Schreier, director of NRA Museums. He did everything the doctors asked of him and then some. But it wasn’t enough. Leukemia won, and we all lost.

No More Tax on Suppressors!

When President Donald Trump (R) signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) into law on July 4, 2025, he scheduled the end of the burdensome $200 excise tax imposed on suppressors, short-barreled firearms and “any other weapons” as defined by the National Firearms Act (NFA). That end came on January 1.

Armed Citizens are the “Rugged Individualists” Mamdani Despises

In his inauguration speech as the new mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani said, behind his characteristically easy smile, “We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.”

Conscientious Carry

While going about armed, you need to fit into society responsibly and politely. Here’s how.
