1. Folding Sharpener
We featured the Work Sharp Professional Precision Adjust Knife Sharpener in our 2024 holiday gift guide, and I do love it, but of course I can’t always have that with me. This Folding Field Sharpener, which is about the size of a pocketknife, can go anywhere. It has a 400-grit, diamond sharpening plate on one side of the fold and a finer-grit, ceramic honing plate on the other. (worksharptools.com; $29.95)

2. The Best IWB Holster?
Ah, holsters, how we do need them—and how we do buy them, use them briefly, buy new ones, rinse and repeat, ad nauseum. Well, if you’re still looking for that perfect inside-the-waistband holster, perhaps this Pro Series from Mission First Tactical will be the answer. It’s available for many of the most-popular firearms and has a few unique features, most notably the patent-pending magnetic retention system with an 11-pound maximum pull. There’s also a barrel stabilizer in the bottom—essentially a rod that goes into an unthreaded barrel—to keep the pistol at the exact angle you need it. Consider those innovations with the more-typical features of ambidextrous design, adjustable cant, sweat guard, tuckable belt clips and well-placed wedges to bring the grip closer and prevent holster slumping, and I think it might be a frontrunner. (missionfirsttactical.com; $89.99)

3. A Protective Cover for Pistols
Ultimately these Sentry Slideboots are all about utility, and they don’t really need to do more. The 3-millimeter-thick neoprene material simply and effectively protects handgun slides from scratches, dings and dust and protects other materials in your safes or bags from any oil or fouling on your slide. A tab at the back helps you pull it on and off. It’s available in the colors shown and in a variety of sizes, including red-dot versions. (sentrytactical.com; $12.99 each)
