NRA Country is all about the lifestyle of the NRA: hunting, fishing and enjoying the outdoors. We love to talk about country music, but we also like to feature people who live the NRA Country lifestyle. It doesn’t get more authentic than Alabama-native, Hannah Barron, age 23. Although you’ve seen her in country star Luke Comb’s recent music video, she is most at home outdoors. Barron first gained notoriety for noodling—catching catfish with your bare hands. She’s become an internet sensation. NRA Country’s Vanessa Shahidi spoke to her right after she took her biggest buck ever with a bow.

VS: Who shared their love of the outdoors with you growing up?

HB: My dad, Jeff Barron, taught me everything I know about the outdoors. I’m so thankful to have a father who took up so much time with me growing up, passing on what he learned about hunting, fishing, setting trotlines and trapping. He’s still my best friend. Now we go on hunting trips all over the world together.

VS: When did you start noodling?

HB: When I was 15 or 16 years old, our neighbor, Brad Gavins, was a game warden, and he took us noodling. We got to be hooked on grabbing catfish.

VS: Do you have a personal favorite firearm?

HB: I love my old Remington .308 Model 700 my grandad had and passed on to me. Dad sawed off the end of the stock so I could use it comfortably. I hunted with it for years before retiring it. It still shoots like a charm and is my favorite rifle.

Policing Should Not Be A Political Issue

Crime is a complicated topic, but there is an extremely simple rule that must be observed before one can begin to fight it effectively: One must genuinely wish to deal with the problem. Without such an elementary ambition, no amount of legislation, activity, taxpayer money or speechmaking will make the slightest bit of difference.
