NRA Executive Vice President and CEO Wayne LaPierre has released a new video commentary, “Our Time is Now,” applauding the NRA members and gun owners who achieved a historic accomplishment in electing Donald J. Trump the 45th president of the United States, while sending Hillary Clinton “on permanent political vacation” for making “her hatred for the Second Amendment a central issue of this campaign.”

“The disgraceful media attempted to manipulate your emotions. They tried to suppress your enthusiasm, your speech, your vote,” says LaPierre, noting that hard-working Americans rose up to defeat a corrupt class of elites who were determined to take away Second Amendment freedoms. “You proved the founders right: that the ultimate check and balance in this country is the American people.”

LaPierre also took the opportunity to set the agenda going forward, while noting the fight is not over. “We also face a growing group of anti-Second Amendment elitist billionaires, led by George Soros and Michael Bloomberg,” says LaPierre. “They will continue to enjoy the support of an openly dishonest media that truly hates your right to speak, your right to worship and your right to vote.”

Among other things, LaPierre calls for the passage of national right-to-carry reciprocity and an end to gun-free zones. “We must approach the coming fights with the same urgency and determined action that ended the political future of Hillary Rodham Clinton,” says LaPierre in his closing charge to every American who loves freedom and will continue to fight for America.
