Small Contributions Add Up To Big Victories for Freedom

These days—at least most of the time—$5 won’t buy you much. Maybe a pound of ground beef. Or a gallon of milk. Or 10 rounds of 9 mm.

But when it comes to freedom, $5 can buy you a lot. A whole lot, in fact. And if you don’t believe me, just ask the thousands of NRA members who’ve joined our NRA-ILA Partners in Freedom program—supporting NRA-ILA’s defense of the Second Amendment with a monthly contribution. Some give $5 or $10. Some give as much as $20, $30, $50 or even $100. All make a significant and lasting impact in our fight to defend freedom.

As you know, NRA-ILA is the political arm of the NRA. With offices just steps from the U.S. Capitol, and field representatives across the country who can be face-to-face with any elected official in America in a matter of hours, NRA-ILA is the fighting machine that powers NRA’s efforts to preserve and restore our sacred right to keep and bear arms.

But for the most part, NRA-ILA’s efforts aren’t funded by regular NRA dues. Instead, it’s the additional contributions we receive—over and above annual dues—that fuel NRA-ILA’s efforts in Washington, D.C., and in all 50 states.

And yes, just a few dollars a month can make a big difference. In the 45 years since NRA-ILA’s founding, our supporters have stood on the front lines of every major battle for our gun rights. And unlike gun-ban groups that rely almost exclusively on mega-donations from billionaires and Hollywood elitists, we rely on small contributions that, combined together, produce big results for freedom.

Over the past 45 years, NRA-ILA has helped pass dozens of state laws protecting our shooting ranges from noise complaints and arbitrary shutdowns—thanks to our supporters who’ve funded these efforts a few dollars at a time. We’ve passed laws making it illegal to harass hunters in the field—a few dollars at a time.

In state after state, we’ve outlawed gun confiscations in times of emergency like we saw in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. We’ve strengthened the right to self-defense through stand-your-ground laws that guarantee your right to defend yourself and your family. And we’ve gone from a handful of right-to-carry states to more than 40 states with shall-issue or Constitutional carry—a few dollars at a time.

And in the United States Congress, we banned frivolous lawsuits aimed at bankrupting the American gun industry. We’ve overturned Barack Obama’s “Social Security Gun Grab,” which would have denied millions of seniors their right to keep and bear arms. We blocked the government from using America’s banking laws as a weapon to put mom-and-pop gun shops out of business. And we did it all just a few dollars at a time.

So yes, $5 or $10 or $15 can make a difference—and defend our cherished freedom. And if you’d like to join the ranks of our Partners in Freedom—and make a huge difference for the Second Amendment with minimal impact on your family’s budget—I encourage you to learn more about this important NRA-ILA program by visiting NRAILA.org/PartnerInFreedom.

As a Partner in Freedom, you’ll receive a number of special benefits designed not only to recognize your commitment, but also to bring you into our NRA-ILA inner circle of citizen-lobbyists. Your benefits will include a beautiful yearly wildlife calendar to display in your home or office, exclusive email updates to recap our legislative victories as well as upcoming threats and, for a limited-time, an exclusive special gift just for signing up.

I’d also look forward to having your participation in our live conference calls with our Partners in Freedom, which we schedule periodically throughout the year. To me, these calls are a great opportunity to connect with top NRA-ILA leaders from coast to coast, to hear your questions, and to share what I’m seeing on the Second Amendment battlefield in real time.

I’m proud to lead a fantastic team of warriors here at NRA-ILA. If you’re among the many NRA members who generously give an additional contribution once or twice a year in support of our efforts, please accept my warmest “thank you,” and please help us keep up the fight in the weeks and months to come. And if you’re able to make a monthly commitment and become one of our Partners in Freedom, I hope you’ll visit NRAILA.org/PartnerInFreedom and sign up. I’d look forward to sending your special sign-up gift and other benefits, and I’d especially look forward to having you on our next live conference call.

Thank you and keep up the fight!
