The Armed Citizen

A tow-truck driver responded to a crash involving a bus and multiple cars in Chicago, Ill., on Oct. 3. According to reports, more than a dozen people had exited their vehicles when a man in a white Dodge Durango began firing at them for unknown reasons, striking the bus driver in the leg. The tow-truck driver, who had a concealed-carry permit, ducked behind a vehicle and drew his own firearm, then returned fire. The assailant fled the scene after the armed citizen had fired two shots. The injured bus driver, whom authorities believe was not deliberately targeted, was taken to the hospital in stable condition, and no other injuries were reported. A 26-year-old man was at home in Chicago, Ill., on Sept. 5 when a person allegedly entered without permission. The armed citizen fired at the intruder, striking him twice in the chest. The suspect fled, but was quickly located nearby and transported to the hospital, where he died. Neighbors around the home said a family with children lives there. The investigation was still ongoing. (abc7chicago.com, Chicago, Ill., 9/6/23)

The DOJ Civil Rights Division is Hiring Second Amendment Attorneys

After Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Civil Rights Division, was a guest on Gun Talk Media with Tom Gresham, NRA-ILA reported that Dhillon is “embracing a new style of litigation on behalf of the Second Amendment.”

Cynical Strategies To Subvert The Protection Of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act

Since President George W. Bush signed the bipartisan Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) into law on Oct. 26, 2005, those bent on civilian disarmament have sought to bypass the legislation’s clear commands. In fact, 20 years later, gunmakers were fending off a frivolous nuisance suit from the city of Gary, Ind., filed in 1999, despite the PLCAA and state-analogue legislation.
