The fourth annual Benelli USA Invitational Shoot, a sporting clays fundraising event, recently raised a whopping $85,000 to boost Freedom Hunters mission. Freedom Hunters, a charity dedicated to serving the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their dependents, improves the lives of soldiers and their families by taking them on outdoor adventures—most notably, hunting adventures. Held in Glenn Dale, Md., this past February, the Benelli USA Invitational Shoot easily eclipsed last year’s event.

The highlights of the Invitational included the chance to shoot clays in a challenging competition, as well as a silent auction and raffle. The total amount of funds raised through the donations, auction and raffle--$85,000—handily beat the $55,000 from 2017’s event.

"We are extremely happy with the dramatic increase in the money raised at this year's event. Support from the industry has been wonderful," said Tim Joseph, who serves as a member of the advisory board for Freedom Hunters. "Not only are we raising dollars for an important cause, but the Benelli Invitational is also a great time to get together with industry partners and friends from across the country for a day of shooting, good food and great camaraderie.”

The NRA took a serious hit on December 28th. We lost Phil Schreier, director of NRA Museums. He did everything the doctors asked of him and then some. But it wasn’t enough. Leukemia won, and we all lost.

No More Tax on Suppressors!

When President Donald Trump (R) signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBB) into law on July 4, 2025, he scheduled the end of the burdensome $200 excise tax imposed on suppressors, short-barreled firearms and “any other weapons” as defined by the National Firearms Act (NFA). That end came on January 1.

In his inauguration speech as the new mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani said, behind his characteristically easy smile, “We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.”
