Billionaire Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer recently donated $7 million to the Bloomberg-backed gun-control group Everytown for Gun Safety.

This multi-million dollar donation from one billionaire to another is just another example of how some elites now and then step out of their gated communities—security details all around them—to attempt to curtail our right to keep and bear arms.

Ballmer, a former Microsoft CEO, is reportedly worth nearly $70 million and has, by far, the highest net worth of any owner in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Everytown for Gun Safety, the group funded by former New York City mayor and failed presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, has made it known in no uncertain terms that it is spending big on elections this fall to convince more people to vote away their freedom.

Of course, it was only a few months ago when Bloomberg himself said that the average citizen should not carry firearms.

Ballmer, meanwhile, is not the only notable NBA figure to oppose Second Amendment rights. Last fall, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told a reporter that “our government officials have to decide that the safety of our citizens is more important than the money they receive from the NRA.”

Kerr, much like Ballmer and Bloomberg, blatantly ignores the NRA’s history as a defender of civil liberties, as protected in the U.S. Bill of Rights.

Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety has already released endorsements for its preferred anti-freedom candidates in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
