If you’ve ever struggled with the question of whether to carry a full-size or a subcompact handgun that conceals better for your every day carry (EDC) gun, SIG Sauer is trying to make the choice easier. Much like Goldilocks found one bed too hard, one bed too soft and one just right, SIG has come up with a handgun design that offers the best of both worlds.

We’ve all heard the big gripe that’s the crux of the matter: the magazine capacity for a concealed-carry model might not be enough to stop the attacker(s), but a full-size, higher-capacity handgun is simply too much for every day carry. The High-Capacity Micro-Compact P365 is being billed as the answer because it incorporates the concealability of a small gun with a magazine capacity that is beyond that which most models in the class offer.

The SIG Sauer engineers have designed a narrow-neck, modified double-stack magazine that holds 10 rounds in both the flush-fit and extended versions; with one in the chamber, you get a full capacity of 11 rounds—nearly a 50 percent increase over other pistols in its class. And if you still want more ammunition capacity, you can get an optional 12-round extended magazine.

The P365, a striker-fired 9 mm, offers a higher grip design to bring the shooting hand closer to the bore axis as a way to reduce felt recoil. And it features a slim-line rail that will allow you to add accessories.

As with other SIG models, takedown is easy, and SIG has partnered with Blackpoint Tactical so a variety of concealment holsters are available.
