The Armed Citizen

A man broke into a home in Ruskin, Fla., just after midnight on Nov. 10, 2024. The homeowner’s adult son shot the intruder several times, killing him. The sheriff told reporters, “This is every homeowner’s greatest fear: a dangerous and brazen individual breaking in, showing a complete disregard for the safety and security of others.” The investigation was ongoing. On Nov. 18, 2024, a 66-year-old woman was at home in Decatur, Ill., when a unknown 35-year-old male entered her house. Fortunately, one of the woman’s family members arrived and encountered the man. When the intruder continued advancing further into the home, the family member shot him. The home invader was taken to the hospital but died of his injuries; the woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries as well and was treated for them. The home invader was on mandatory supervised release through the Illinois Dept. of Corrections at the time of the incident. (wcia.com, Champaign, Ill., 11/19/24)

The DOJ Civil Rights Division is Hiring Second Amendment Attorneys

After Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Civil Rights Division, was a guest on Gun Talk Media with Tom Gresham, NRA-ILA reported that Dhillon is “embracing a new style of litigation on behalf of the Second Amendment.”

Cynical Strategies To Subvert The Protection Of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act

Since President George W. Bush signed the bipartisan Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) into law on Oct. 26, 2005, those bent on civilian disarmament have sought to bypass the legislation’s clear commands. In fact, 20 years later, gunmakers were fending off a frivolous nuisance suit from the city of Gary, Ind., filed in 1999, despite the PLCAA and state-analogue legislation.
