A man reportedly walked into a convenience store in Kingsland, Ga., on May 1 and demanded the clerk’s car keys. The clerk complied, and the man left the store and got into the vehicle. However, as he left, he somehow crashed the car into the storefront, then got out and got into an altercation with the clerk, whereupon the clerk shot the suspect several times in self-defense. Police said the suspect was also believed to have robbed a convenience store in Florida and had been chased across the state line into Georgia. Georgia police had deployed a “stop stick,” a spiked device that can be laid in the road, to immobilize his vehicle, which is why he was attempting to flee in the clerk’s car instead. The county sheriff released a statement praising the Georgia store clerk’s actions in stopping the fugitive. (41nbc.com, Macon, Ga., 5/1/23)

Police were called to a residence in Murfreesboro, Tenn., the evening of May 5, after a resident shot two alleged home invaders. Reportedly, the two intruders were masked and wearing gloves when they broke through the home’s front door, tased the family’s dog and held a teenaged resident at gunpoint. The homeowner, however, was able to retrieve his firearm and shoot the intruders several times. One of the assailants, a 52-year-old man, died at the scene, and the other, a 42-year-old man, was detained shortly after fleeing. He was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds and will face charges of aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated robbery, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent felony. Part 2: How the Mainstream Media Lost Touch With America—the Death of Local News

The demise of newspapers, small and large, has been well chronicled, but how this has impacted America’s most practical civil right, our right to keep and bear arms, has not often been considered.

The DOJ Civil Rights Division is Hiring Second Amendment Attorneys

After Harmeet Dhillon, assistant attorney general for the U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Civil Rights Division, was a guest on Gun Talk Media with Tom Gresham, NRA-ILA reported that Dhillon is “embracing a new style of litigation on behalf of the Second Amendment.”

Cynical Strategies To Subvert The Protection Of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act

Since President George W. Bush signed the bipartisan Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) into law on Oct. 26, 2005, those bent on civilian disarmament have sought to bypass the legislation’s clear commands. In fact, 20 years later, gunmakers were fending off a frivolous nuisance suit from the city of Gary, Ind., filed in 1999, despite the PLCAA and state-analogue legislation.
