President Joe Biden (D) and White House officials recently met with attorneys general from seven states and Washington, D.C., to discuss how they can “hold accountable” law-abiding gun manufacturers and dealers for the actions of criminals.

Amongst those present were Letitia James of New York (who says she wants the NRA obliterated), Karl Racine of Washington, D.C., six other attorneys general (all Democrats), Susan Rice, and other Biden administration officials.

White House officials reportedly centered on the Biden administration’s desire to repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA)—something Biden said was the one thing he’d ask for if he could invoke divine intervention.

“One of the key things we need to do is repeal [the PLCAA], and we’re still fighting every day for that. But in the meantime, we’re going to be creative about talking to states about how they can use existing law to make policy change,” one official told USA Today.

That’s a troubling statement to come from someone in the Biden administration, to say the least.

Recently, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo—who is currently embroiled in his own share of controversy—signed legislation that attempts to circumvent the PLCAA by allowing state officials and others to sue gun makers and dealers for the actions of violent criminals. He even called these law-abiding manufacturers and dealers a “public nuisance” that should be sued into insolvency.

Time and again, we’ve stressed the importance of the PLCAA, along with outlining the lies that this administration regularly preaches about the PLCAA. It does not, in fact, give firearms manufacturers any special immunity, no matter how many times Biden or the officials in his administration say so.

Facts don’t matter to Biden and company, though, and apparently neither do the current laws on the books. Biden is blaming everyone but the criminal element of society and his own policies for an uptick in violence. He even recently blamed gun owners themselves—yes, law-abiding gun owners who exercise their constitutional rights—for the uptick. His press secretary, Jen Psaki, also blamed firearms, which are inanimate objects, for the actions of criminals.

It’s crucial that we continue to call out their lies and fight to protect our Second Amendment rights from those who wish to tear away those rights by any means necessary.
